November 16, 2021 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Join us in-person to resume our annual Mason Bee experience! Did you know Mason Bees are one of about 4000 native North American bees, without which most of our fruits and vegetables would not produce. You will see how easy it is to attract and maintain these important pollinators in your yard. Learn about the bees and then get hands-on experience as we will also be cleaning cocoons for our plant sale in the spring. In exchange go home with some of your very own bee cocoons!

December 17, 2021 4:00 p.m. How can we play a role in pollinator conservation, both in general and in our own landscapes and communities? Much has been said about pollinators and their importance in natural systems and our food system but the importance can’t be stressed enough. Let’s talk about the natural history, threats, conservation and especially what we can do in our own landscapes to create a more pollinator-friendly space.

January 27, 2022 4:00 p.m. Are you nurturing your green thumb, dreaming of a lush indoor jungle, or simply trying to keep something green alive indoors? Join us (and bring your plant to class) for this Zoom presentation all about growing houseplants. We will showcase some of our favorite indoor plants, discuss seasonal care tips, answer your questions and offer expert advice and solutions for growing happy houseplants.

At home more these days, watching birds from your window but not knowing what species they are? We will talk about the basics of bird identification and touch on some of the more common backyard birds in our area with a focus on our various sparrow species. If you take photos of the birds you are seeing from several angles (if possible), time allowing, we’ll share them via Zoom and spend a few minutes trying to identify those birds.

CLASS: Come walk the gardens with the herb gals from Garden Delights Herb Farm and play the newest plant game – Name That Herb. They will be doing a “show and tell” of some of the herbs found in the various gardens.
