Are you scared by bats? They have a bad reputation that they don’t deserve. There are over 1,200 species of bats worldwide with more than a dozen found here in Washington; five of which are likely to use a bat house if placed correctly. Without bats we would be infested with crop destroying, disease carrying insects; many of our favorite tropical treats including mangoes, cashews and figs, would not exist in the quantities we know today. Those frightening ‘vampire’ bats are even helping to treat stroke victims!

Brandon will talk about these interesting bat facts and more just in time for his favorite holiday of the year: Halloween.
10 a.m. to noon, Saturday October 19, 2024 at CASEE Center, Bldg. B, Room 205,11104 NE 149th St., Brush Prairie, WA.
