February Class
Please review the attached flyer for our class at the CASEE Center on Saturday February 21st at 10:00am ~ I Like Lichens (Repeat) ~ conducted by Rebecca Lexa, Naturalist (www.rebeccalexa.com). The response to this class offered in January was overwhelming. The classroom at CASEE was full and we reluctantly had to turn folks away for the first time.
Please let me know via email if you would like to attend this class to ensure proper chair set up and materials–members are always welcome.
Enjoy reviewing the accomplishments, events and happenings of 2025 and plans for the future of NatureScaping and the Wildlife Botanical Gardens. Naturescaping 2025 Annual Report
We are having a modified plant sale this year at the Wildlife Botanical Gardens in Brush Prairie on Saturday April 25th. Members up to date with their dues will have first access to the sale prior to opening it up to the public. More detailed information will be forthcoming. The CASEE Center will be selling natives from their greenhouse and we will sell Mason bee cocoons.
Some visitors have asked about the tarped area on the west end of the gardens near the compost area. We are planning a new (11th) garden.Tentatively titled Habitat in Action, it is envisioned as a living classroom that connects CASEE student learning with hands-on community collaboration, including work with Vancouver Bee Project and Clark Conservation District.
The November 2025 newsletter mentioned a work in progress to transform one of our gardens–the former Collector’s Garden to our Sensory Garden. Recent work (trenching, see pic) was conducted to add electricity to the gardens for a future water feature.
NatureScaping had a table at the recent Hockinson Seed Swap & Giveaway–5th year in a row. We saw some friends and partner organizations. We talked with some nice folks with whom we shared information about our organization and gardens.
Sharing……
We have created a free 52-page booklet as an educational tool that includes dozens of high-quality photos, descriptions and other information regarding native plants found at The Wildlife Botanical Gardens and reasons to incorporate them in your landscape. Here is the link to finding it on our website:
From Anthony J. D’Angelo: “Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.”
