Native Mason Bees

November 16, 2021 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Join us in-person to resume our annual Mason Bee experience! Did you know Mason Bees are one of about 4000 native North American bees, without which most of our fruits and vegetables would not produce. You will see how easy it is to attract and maintain these important pollinators in your yard. Learn about the bees and then get hands-on experience as we will also be cleaning cocoons for our plant sale in the spring. In exchange go home with some of your very own bee cocoons!

Beginning Bird Identification

At home more these days, watching birds from your window but not knowing what species they are? We will talk about the basics of bird identification and touch on some of the more common backyard birds in our area with a focus on our various sparrow species. If you take photos of the birds you are seeing from several angles (if possible), time allowing, we’ll share them via Zoom and spend a few minutes trying to identify those birds.
